We are absolutely thrilled to announce that Devils Churn Campfire Salted Caramel Sauce, proudly produced in Ballycastle by Seasons of the Glens Farm Shop, has not only won Bronze in the Preserves and Sweet Spreads Category but has also been named Small Producer of the Year at the prestigious Irish Quality Food & Drink Awards 2023!

These awards recognise and celebrate the finest food and drink products available in Ireland, spanning retail, wholesale, and foodservice sectors. Each entry undergoes rigorous evaluation by a panel of industry experts, assessing taste, flavour, provenance, and innovation. To take home two awards in such a competitive field is a massive achievement for us.

Crafted with Quality, Inspired by Community

Devils Churn Caramel Sauce is handmade in small batches at Seasons of the Glens Farm Shop, using locally sourced ingredients. The signature North Coast Smokehouse Beechwood Smoked Salt, supplied by Ruraidh Morrison, gives the sauce its distinctive ‘Campfire Salted’ name—adding just the right touch of depth, smokiness, and salted sweetness.

This isn’t just an award-winning caramel sauce; it’s a social enterprise product with a purpose. All profits from sales are reinvested to support small businesses and strengthen local communities through the delivery of artisan markets.

Winning Gold at the 2022 Blas na hÉireann Irish Food Awards was an incredible milestone, and now receiving Bronze at the Irish Quality Food & Drink Awards, along with the Small Producer of the Year title, reaffirms just how special this product is.

A Moment to Celebrate

Eoin McConnell, the chief pot mixer , shared:

"We developed Devils Churn to fill a market gap while raising funds for our social enterprise activities, and seeing it recognised at this level is incredible. Winning Bronze among so many well-established brands and being named Small Producer of the Year is an achievement beyond our expectations. It’s a testament to the dedication and craftsmanship that goes into every jar. We are so grateful for the support we’ve received from our customers, stockists, and fellow artisans."

Shauna McFall, of Naturally North Coast and Glens, added:

"We’re so proud of Devils Churn and the journey it’s been on since launching in 2021. The local response has been overwhelmingly positive, and it’s now stocked in a growing number of local stores"

"Our team’s experience and passion have helped develop a product that not only tastes amazing but also gives back to the community with every jar sold. We currently have over 400 artisans registered to trade with us at our markets, with new and young businesses joining us every month. Additionally, our shop supports around 100 makers and producers from across Northern Ireland. These awards are a win for everyone in our community, and we couldn’t be more delighted!"

Looking Ahead

As the Irish Quality Food & Drink Awards celebrated their 10th anniversary, we couldn’t have asked for a better way to mark the occasion. Winning Small Producer of the Year is a huge honour, and we are excited for what’s next as we continue to grow, support more artisans, and bring our Devilishly Good caramel sauce to even more people.

Thank you to everyone who has supported us on this journey
